Stranger_ 0 Posted January 17, 2014 Just recently upgraded a dying harddrive. Went from an old Western Digital 150GB Sata drive to a new Toshiba Q Series Pro 128GB SSD. Framerate using the older drive was a constant 55fps, dipping to around 30. New drive has a constant around 25fps dipping to around 12, maxing at 31? No area changes the framerate, every area (woods, city, sea) keeps a constant framerate. I've edited the config files, and ingame settings to the exact same as I had it on the WD drive. Same servers are used. I can boot the old drive and still get the same gameplay as I did before. This seems to be an issue with my SSD, but all other games and files do fine with the new addition. Dchil 829 Posted January 17, 2014 Changing a hard drive should not result in lower frames (usually), it should only result in a difference in load times.
