DropkickJeremy 26 Posted January 17, 2014 Sorry, I'm not sure if this is the place to ask, but I didn't know where else to ask it. I already have, and have played the game, but I'm not very good with computer specs and whatnot. Can anyone tell me roughly what settings i should be running on to get the smoothest gameplay? I'd like to run them as high as possible without affecting the gameplay too much. My specs are: AMD Six-Core FX-6200 Processor 3.8ghz, 10 GB DDR3 RAM, 1.5 TB Hard Drive, and an AMD Radeon HD 7570 graphics card. Thanks for any assistance. doviszxc 194 Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) Go read this thread : http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154330-possible-fps-enhancer/ But don't change any launch options. Here's the setting's that would be the best : Rendering options, set everything to disabled or lowest, the game will still look very good.Textures should be high to normal, the same with texture filtering.Resolution, should be your native screen resolution.Video memory on AUTO.Object's : Very low or Low.Clouds : Disable that s***. Doesn't change any of the gameplay and gives 10-16+ frames.Shadows : Lowest or low. Can be normal too. Doesn't make a big difference in game.Terrain : Medium or Very low.Bloom and Blur : Minimum. Or watch some videos like theese : Edited January 17, 2014 by Doviszxc
h3retic 224 Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) low-med texture, 1024 mb texture size, no Anti Alliasign, 16x Aniso Filter, no post processing, shadows off (-pro tip: off, makes things more visible at night), clouds off or high (high, same as shadows for nighttime).overall, ur pc should mostly run on off/low/med settings. http://www.fraps.com/ get a free version of fraps, and u can then monitor ur framerate.-check how ur frame rate reflects the settings u set. Play around with the settings and find ur best combination of quality to performance.-judging by ur system specs, id say ur fps would be around 15-50, depending on where u are in game. Dayz is currently unoptimized so expect better performance at later periods of dev. Edited January 17, 2014 by h3retic
poodude28 (DayZ) 36 Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) Your setup looks okay, in my opinion you should just play around with the settings and have fraps on until you are happy with the fps you have. If you want you can disable shadows as it has helped some people alot. Edited January 17, 2014 by poodude28

DropkickJeremy 26 Posted January 17, 2014 Thanks everyone. I plan on getting some assistance on building a computer in the very near future that'll run games a lot better, but we got this one since the old laptop crapped out and we needed something more reliable for the wife's schooling. It runs day decent so far, just was curious how smooth I could actually get the game to run on this one.
