razgriz93@gmail.com 228 Posted January 16, 2014 So, at this exact moment, death has little to no meaning. Die, spawn on coast, run around, geared again. It doesn't really make people value their digital life. At all. Now, how can we make dying more of a real loss than a temporary nuisance? I have a bunch of ideas, but I would love for you people to add yours. Some "skills" growth while playing.I'll explain better, doing certain actions x times makes you a little better at it. For example, running for a lot makes you run a little bit faster or get less sway after a run, as well as better recovery. Cooking a lot makes your food better, restoring more energy and water. Shooting a gun a lot makes your recoil handle better and reduces sway. All little things that aren't exactly that much (no glowing loot for people with speshul eyes etcetera), but may make people think twice before trying something very stupid.
dulix11 731 Posted January 16, 2014 Maybe, but only very slight improvements to whatever it is you're doing. I don't want to see people shooting their weapons into the air and then having no recoil or sway.
gangrenetvp 74 Posted January 17, 2014 "So, at this exact moment, death has little to no meaning." Speak for yourself... My character has been alive for about 6 days and I'm still gearing up and having fun. I don't want to die!"Die, spawn on coast, run around, geared again." I don't think it is that easy or quick to get healthy and geared... I've been looting military spawns for days and I'm still finding upgrades.
thedogfoodyayho 295 Posted January 17, 2014 Best way would be that you get A "Worse" Spawnpoint every time you die, the worst being skalisty island.Effectively eliminates spawn Kamikazes aswell.
Awruk 216 Posted January 17, 2014 Here, let me tell you why life has little value right now: -no money or a trade system-small variety of loot-very easy to reach end game (m4 and full backpack) For now you are as valuable as many slots u have in your backpack, money should be added so you can sell your stuff and keep the value of entire backpack in just one slot. gangrenetvp 74 Posted January 18, 2014 I'm totally against money... Money doesn't make sense in a apocalypse... Paper money has no value. It only has value if people give it value. Nobody is going to agree to giving paper value in that environment. The items themselves are the "money" as they are valued and trade-able. So there is a money / trade system... I have this, you have that... let's trade. I want 4 beans for that pistol... it's rare...In the apocalypse...I have this five "dollar" note here that says it's worth about 3 cans of beans, will you give them to me?That piece of paper is useless to me, keep that because all it is worth is wiping your butt... furthermore, stick your hands up because you have some actual stuff that I like and I have a gun.If you want... get some pieces of paper and a pen.... then write some amounts on the piece of paper and try trading that for some stuff... let's see how that works for you...
