I want to play with a friend, how will we find each other?

Hi all,

 

As I said in other posts, I am super new to the game, so I don't know my way around at all. My brother and I wanted to play together, but I was wondering how we'll be able to find each other?
 

I guess we will not spawn next to each other right? Unless we are SUPER lucky?

Moreover, since I've already started playing, can I sort of, delete my character so that I restart with him (I have almost no gear)? Cause I am really not sure I'll be able to backtrack all the way to him, since I don't know my way around yet.

 

Or is the only way to kill myself? Let a zombie kill me or something?

You can try to find a good map on the web and make sure that you both spawn near the coast. After that, use the map to locate you and your brother (you may need to walk a bit on the road to find something), after 10-20min you should be together since the spawns are all between elektro and berezino for now.

Unfortunately that is not true.

I have spawned everywhere from Kamenka to Cap Galova to Berezino and even in Novy Sobor once.

1. Zombies, find them, hug them.

2. Find a tall building and simply jump off.

3. Ask another player to do it for you. (though this can take a while when there's nobody around.)

4. Drink disinfectant and or eat rotten fruit.

 

Not sure why you want to kill yourself, though. Finding your friends can be an adventure on it's own. And you might get some cool stories to tell when you do find them.

- Discover current location from roadsigns (either signs showing a town name, or work it out from directions signs and your surroundings and how they relate on the maps linked above)

- Work out positions relative to each other

- Agree meeting point

- Walk (profit?)

 

Protip: Don't run down the roads. Get off the beach ASAP. Stick to the trees to stay out of sight. Also, you should probably make finding water/food a priority whilst making your way to your meeting point.

The reason was really just to accelerate the process of finding him. As I have almost no gear collected, deleting the character and/or dying is a possiblity in order to find him more quickly. I walked quite far inland, so backtracking to him could take some time.

So ya, really just a question of saving some time.

 

But! I am not saying I will do it, was just curious to see if there was a "delete" button somewhere. I understand that there isn't. Thx for the info.

Clouds ALWAYS move west to east, so that can help in navigation as well.

Hello! The same way you do in real life. You find out where you are. You find out where he is. You work out where you're going to meet, and you get off your arse and start moving there.

I find the best method is to stand in an open field and fire your gun into the air until he hears it.  I cant see any problems developing because of it...

jk, Id go with what everyone above has said.  You also become more comfortable once you start to recognize things such as landmarks or the way buildings in certain towns look like, so eventually youll be able to head out without much thought.

It can get dangerous 'Alt Tabbing' out of the game to see where you are. You soon learn locations from experience and there are town name signs. look at one, look at the map and you have your location.
