To Shoot or Not To Shoot.

Recommended Posts

So I've been playing DayZ for a couple of days; Aparently I'm a "Bandit" because I fire at armed players on sight, but with good reason; I will explain below:

  • I don't see a reason why not to because I don't feel like losing all my items to someone who would do the exact same.
  • It is impossible to know a player's intention from that far of a distance; Its either You or Me.

Another thing that really bugs me is people who log off in the middle of combat; or those people who just run at you from spawn and punchwhore you to unconsiousness.

What I suggest:

  • Increase the chat range/ allow players to yell (shout) [but have it if they are using their mic while yelling to notify the Zeds that a player is nearby and causing noise]
  • Disable logging out if any pvp / bullets are fired at you / around you for 2 minutes.
  • Increase the amount of Zeds that spawn in the towns.
  • Fix that goddamn ladder bug that makes you fall off them and fall to your death.
  • Zombies walking through walls; made me waste ALOT of ammo.
  • Fix where if a player runs at you and punches you, you dont sit there fumbling around trying to equip your fucking weapon.

If anyone has a better way to protect myself without having to kill another armed player on sight; please do share.

Isn't a bandit anyone who kills for loot and supplies? No questions asked? Make it their only way of doing it?

Peope who just kill are maniacs and psychos.

People like you are just survivors.

Dude first of all. You're not that much of a bandit. This is ok.

As for the rest of your problems and suggestions.. the game is in ALPHA. You should have known this when you bought it. You, like many others on the forums, want changes implemented when there are many more high priority things being fixed at the moment by the devs.

Have some patience. Go play the Mod or something else for a while. Keep up to date on the devblogs and wait for a patch that suits you. Rocket and the team are going as fast as they can. Posting on the forums asking for updates will not get you very far. I'm sorry if its frustrating for you but the game will exponentially get better. Once the major kinks are ironed out things will get better.

Good things come to those that wait..
