Low-resolution textures even though I own Combined Operations

Recommended Posts

I have low-resolution textures despite having bought and launched ARMA II and Operation Arrowhead.

I have downloaded and played the free version of ARMA II off Steam, but I uninstalled it through the Steam client before playing the paid versions.

Screenshots of my game:

From what I have heard, the survivor skin is from Arma 2: Private Military Company.

The camo and ghilie suit skins are from Arma 2: British Military Company.

I have both those addons and all my stuff is high res.

I just looked at the screen shots.

That , does not look like a low res texture to me. It looks more like a texture problem due to graphics card and/or drivers.

Whats your computer specs and what driver version are you currently running for your graphics card ?

hmmm damn , nothing wrong with those specs Bob.

I have seen screenshots of the low res textures before from ppl who use arma2 fee , and they don't look like that.

In the CCC control panel have you got AA and AF set on Application prefrence ?

Oh just though of something, you need to delete the cfg files so that it can recreate them.

in windows goto Documents folder and find the Arma 2 folder.

C:\Users\yourname\Documents\Arma 2

Delete the ArmA2.cfg and then delete the ArmA2OA.cfg file.

Now you need to launch Arma2 on its own so it re-creates the cfg file.

Then launch Operation arrowhead on its own so it creats its cfg file too.

Just gets as far as the main menu ingame then you can exit game.

Then just launch as combined ops again or use the cmd file if your using the beta version of Arma2 - http://dayz.sykotix.com/arma-ii-beta-client-install/

Then in the ingame video options goto advanced and set the Texture detail Very high and the Video memory on default.

Putting Video Memory on very high wil only use 512MB of your grpahics cards memory. But setting it on Default it will read the values that are in the .cfg file we recreated earlier.

More Graphics card memory the game uses then the higher the resolution textures it can use.

Hope this sorts your problem.

I followed your instructions but I'm still seeing really low-quality flora: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/12580001/Pictures/Games/DayZ/arma2oa%202012-06-23%2013-24-19-00.png

Dang, sorry it didnt work Bob, only thing left to do is like reo said, just a fresh install.

If that don't work then its something with your graphics card and or drivers may need re-installing.

Try the fresh install first though.
