Character broken, can't play anymore.

Hello!

I was just running around the Airfield when suddenly i got teleported and couldn't move anymore. I logged back in and it looked like this: http://puu.sh/6jJsD

I was able to run upwards a bit without falling back down (how is this even possible?).

I restarted my client again and now whenever i try to join a server my game just crashes with the message "DayZ.exe has stopped working".

Is there any way to delete my character? Otherwise i can't play the game anymore :(

Have you tried to re-install the game or verify your game cache in steam?

I bought another copy of the game because i don't have a lot of time and still wanted to spend it playing. Everything works fine on another account. It's just the character.

I am sure, at the very least, your first character will be fine with the next character wipe they do. Seeing as you already bought another copy finding another solution is not so urgent ^_^

Not urgent but welcome. I'm missing many friends i met in the game etc., it just feels wrong to play on another account.

We should get like a "delete" button in the character menu or something. Atleast as long as DayZ is in alpha, where shit can happen anytime.

Well. You could get someone to come and kill your character, assuming another player is able to see and interact with your character...

Tried that already, i'm invisible. And when i'm visible, i'm invulnerable. I also tried changing my steam name etc. etc.

Nothing has worked so far. I also can't starve to death anymore because my game immediatly crashes once the character is loaded.

I guess the only solution is a dev deleting my character. Not sure if they check this sub at all.

All you had to do was leave your character there for like 30 minutes and he would have died of thirst... I on the other hand can't even get my character to render. When I join servers, I get stuck at "Please Wait..."

Can only suggest you do all the things you shouldn't do if you don't want to wipe a character.

 

Jump servers like a bitch. Especiall jumping alternately between official and non-official servers i.e. x-100- and x-100+ servers. This should do it in 20~25 jumps.

 

Tell a buddy where you are, if youre able to work that out and have them do the deed.

 

Other than that IDK.

Game crashes on loading screen, can't even server hop (tried that already). Also, Hicks does not seem to respond to the message i sent him.
