Dayz Standalone Crashed My Computer. Video Card Stopped Work and Recovered.

Recommended Posts

Hello. I am trying to play but after a few moments but computer freeze, making strange noises and stop completely.

I have to restart it by clicking on "SHUT DOWN" Button on my PC. It can destroy my computer by doing that all the time. I really want to play this game.

But my video card Nvidia GeForce GTX770M is crashing all the time. Strange purple squares on my screen then it freeze my computer.
I have also uinstalled, and installed new video card drivers but get same errors. nvidia released a new driver for my video card so I hoped that stopped my crash but no.
It still crash so please, fix this problem. So I also can help report bugs etc. I can only play a few minutes only:/

I used to have this problem with my sapphire radeon 7850 2gb ddr5

I would suggest making sure that Dayz is the only main app running,

if you can, update the card drivers,

also try allocate more power to the card, I don't know if it allows you too, but I can add more voltage and it helps

Only Dayz are running, maybe a few other app like skype is on. But that shouldn't effect the gameplay.

And I have the latest driver version 332.21

And how to add more voltage to my video card? I use a laptop, don't know it there was any programs who followed my PC that I could add more voltage etc.

1. I agree it shouldn't

2. Ok not a driver problem

3. I'm not sure, you would need to check with the manufacter/instillation handbook.

It could infact be that your laptop isn't powerfull enough?

Remember, price doesn't = performance.

My rig was a third of your price and more powerfull, not bragging but thats the problems with laptops as gaming machines.

Have you tried a google search, someone may have found a solution? :)

Your video card might be faulty.

Does it do this in other games?

Hmm... If I was you , can you got to the graphics tab under "options" and then allocate more memory, it seems like you don't have enough memory allocation and this is what causes a crash!

Sorry I'm not good at this. Alot more to learn about computers, software etc.

How do I allocate more memory to dayz, or actually a game?

Ps. If you mean video memory (Textures), I can see that in settings ingame.

256MB

512MB

1024MB

2048MB

Don't worry dude, we've all got to start somewhere!

Yeah that's what I'm talking about, the results you posted earlier told me that Dayz was not getting enough memory., Is your graphics carda  1gb or 2gb? If 1gb then allocate 1024mb, if 2gb then 2048mb
