DAMP (DayZ) 1 Posted June 22, 2012 I am sometimes confused if i am about to run or walk. (sometimes it got very dangerous)Is it a ok idea to make a icon that shows you are walking/running?
razzmatazz 2 Posted June 23, 2012 I've found myself wishing for this as well. It most often comes up when I've been crawling for an extended period of time (usually into a town) and then I need to take a crouching position to enter a building or something. When I can't remember whether I was running or walking before crawling, I might accidentally take a couple running steps after standing up when I mean to walk. SASQUATCH_OZ 0 Posted June 23, 2012 When I play, I use toggle walk or run. I really dont hold down my shift key that much. This feature would help me not fucking up and agrroing every zombie near me.
Mustang (DayZ) 0 Posted June 23, 2012 I agree that this would be a good idea. Even better if it could be toggled by the player, depending whether they wanted it (since I am sure some don't).After changing to camo clothing whilst in a town, my character was suddenly set to run by default (due to my character being 'replaced' by the server - my debug monitor kill stats also reset to zero until I next logged in). I almost pulled all the nearby zombies by running when I started to move again. Not good! Also, seems a few other situations can cause the walk toggle to reset back to the default run speed.I wouldn't mind a crouch/stand indicator too, since that also resets after climbing a ladder (which leaves you standing), or sometimes when checking your gear or map (leaves you crouched). But at the same time I don't want the UI to become crowded with icons. The fewer the better!

It's the only way to get immediate feedback/confirmation about my stance and moving speed.
