JustSomeSurvivor 6 Posted January 11, 2014 I'll keep this brief, but I had a thought while playing earlier and looting houses when I alerted a few zombies. Quick and easy ways to block off a door temporarily, such as a door bar. I've found several sticks that apparently have no use besides fire wood that could make very nice door bars. With certain doors, specifically double doors, you could use the bar to slow zombies and other players. The same goes for handcuffs, you could latch a cuff over each door knob and temporarily block off that doorway. This would allow for some more bandit shenanigans, by being able to "imprison" players, but it would also help you to be able to protect a certain building for use as a base or just to cover an escape. Blocked doors wouldn't be invincible, much like handcuffing a player, you could escape by knocking the door down. This would take several tries, which would make a lot of noise. Anyways, there it is. Please leave your thoughts below.
SoWeMeetAgain 100 Posted January 11, 2014 Agree ... something like that would be niceEven more things like rope could be used to lock doors. Later nails and planks. It's probably planned to be honest
hogscraper 328 Posted January 11, 2014 For in-swinging doors just a log propped under the door knob could keep anyone, (player or zombie), from getting in. Either way that would be an awesome use of the sticks. I do believe you can combine sticks and rags to make a splint for a broken leg. Not 100% sure as I've only heard people talk about it on here and never seen in game. I wonder when you can barricade house, would this include barricading someone else inside? JustSomeSurvivor 6 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) I think you'd only be able to barricade someone into an internal room, not into an entire house due to variation of the doors. Only some could be barricaded due to things like the direction the door swings and whether you could mount a door bar there. Maybe some doors could be barricaded much stronger due to such variations. Also, it'd be nice to find real locks. With a key, you can open it easily, if more slowly than normal. And if people want to break in/out they can try to knock it down or smash the lock with a melee weapon should they be on the right side of the door.
