Severe Lag

I recently have had very severe lag that prevents me from opening doors, switching weapons, moving things in my inventory, and using and picking up items. I lost my motorbike helmet from this lag after I tried to swap it for a better one, and I missed out on some food and an axe as well. That isn't my main problem at the moment however because I can't even play the game with it like this. I can move around at normal speed, it just seems like the rest of the game is unresponsive. Does anyone have a fix?

People may have a fix when you have some actual information to provide about the problem, dude.  What server(s) are you noticing this problem on?  I'm assuming that since you can use punctuation that you're smart enough to have tried multiple servers but you didn't indicate one way or the other.  What kind of connection do you have?  Let's see screenshots of a ping -t and a tracert, and maybe a speedtest result.  Your post is like walking into the doctor's office and saying "I don't feel good.  What's wrong?" and expecting him to have an answer.

Ya it is just all of the sudden for me. I have played Dayz for a few weeks before without any lag issues.

I am not here to coddle your delicate feelings.  I was trying to assist by pointing you in the right direction.  Go get a CCNP and troubleshoot it yourself.

Sorry, but I am not even close to being a tech expert, I don't know too much other than the basics, especially when it comes to game related things. I have been a console gamer until a few months ago. To be honest, I don't even know what a CCNP is lol.

I have also been getting extreme desync  with red broken chain every once in a while... seems to happen on every server even though my ping usually stays below 100.

I am joining the lowest ping servers I can, some under 40, and I still can't do anything but move around. This is stopping me from playing the game at all so it is a really serious problem. My internet seems to be at it's normal speed and I am joining gameservers.com and MPGS.com servers.

Yup, happening for me again too. It seems like the world is static and all I can do is move my player and view menus. Can't interact with environment. When I go to pick up an item though, sometimes it appears when I log out then log on to a different server (Not server hopping just trying to find a server that works)

I suggest you to search also for other threads debating this problem and offering ideas (sadly not working) for solving the problem, those might be helpful. Just search for desync, because that's the way this issue is mainly called (because it implies that the client is not syncronized with the server).

This happens from time to time without any clear cause to several users (including me) after the last patch: let's hope they'll fix it with the next one ;)

Edit: note that while you are "stuck in desync", zeds and people can often see you and attack you and usually you can't notice that until next log in on server (same or different). Expect character death if you play in these circumstances!

I opened up ports on my router and it seems to have fixed it (although I've been playing fine up until a few days ago)

I have the same problem. I think it comes from the game (Alpha). I hope they will fix this soon because I can't play if I can't take my weapons or food and inventory

Well, I got an internet problem on Dayz. In about 4~5 times I refresh the server list, it crashes my internet. Detail: if I'm on TS or skype, those will countinous connected, but the internet will take about five minutes to work properly again (I just wait, no need to exit the game, but it sucks). Searching on the internet I've found some threads about this problem been related to a bad router + excessive connections responses. Well, I don't use a "my" router, it's just the moden that comes with the internet company that happen to be a router, and that is what I use here. Do I really need another modem? I really consider this a really inconvenient when playing the game... 

 

So, from my problem to yours... You don't seen to have your internet crash on the server list, right? Well, I belive if you join a server and your internet crashes for the same reason it crashes on the server list, the game will keep you connected (has skype or ts do proppery) but with the yellow connection icon on the game, and it will react pretty much has the lag you are reporting.

i really think its to do with the mass duping, i spent some time checking that bug myself, made a video on how to reproduce it and such, its a real server breaker, i really think it has to do with that and battleye
