So, I basically bought the game like 2 days ago so I'm kinda clueless as to how the servers work in this game (or how servers work in general ^_^). Since I'm from Europe, I obviously only get European servers when I perform a search. Is there any way to connect to the US servers instead? I mean, how does the game detect that I live in Europe? I tried changing my info on steam but it doesn't work and I also searched the files but I couldn't find anything like a realmlist... So.. How does it work? Is it even possible to connect to the US servers if you live in Europe? I don't intend to play on the US servers for extended periods of time, but it might be fun to join some streamers that play the game occasionally.

Easy, When searching for servers go to the 'Filter' button and change the Ping Value to '0'. that will show all servers

Huh, that's strange. I actually had the value set to 999 but I still didn't get any servers. I changed it to 0 and it worked (even though the American servers only have like ~200 ping). Thanks !!!

If you have the Mod do not use the default ArmA 2 multiplayer menu, get DayZ Commander instead.

 

If you have Standalone I am sorry I cannot help you there. There should be a patch coming out to fix this and combine regions if it isn't like that already. Or there should be regions and region swap implemented. Have patience. Go do something else for a while. Perhaps play the Mod to get some practice in. It has a slightly less steep learning curve and the Standalone probably won't be worth playing for a fair while.

You can use the filter seciton, just tpe in "US" in the filter and that should help, or get a friend to hop on and invite you and then favorite the server
