Lag occurs with every server message

First, apologies if this is a repost. Wasn't sure how to search for this particular issue.

So, my ping is great and this issue doesn't occur on every server, but quite often every time there is a message about server activity (someone joined, someone died, someone wants to know if there are friendlies in Cherno), my game will lag for up to five seconds. My system is plenty beefy and my connection is solid, so I don't know what the problem could be.

Anybody seen this? Any idea what the issue is?
