A few questions concerning bugs

Hi all,

 

While I'm really enjoying DayZ as a whole, there are a few niggly glitches that I would like to know more about, and how to possibly fix them.

 

First glitch which is probably the most game breaking for me is the mousewheel glitch. I searched for this on google and on other forums and the solution was always remapping controls for the mousewheel menu. However, it isn't the case for me. The default controls for the menu are [ and ] and the mousewheel, but when i get this glitch none of those buttons seem to work, and mousewheel zooming on the map no longer works. I did found however on the map that holding left ctrl and then using the mousewheel seems to work fine, but this isn't the case in the game, the menu still does not work. Is there any fix for this apart from aborting the server and re-joining it? This is especially annoying in a vehicle as you can't get out, have to abort and die when you next log in.

 

Second glitch I've come across is the invisible AI. This includes invisible bandits, which are lethal enough even when they can be seen. I find this mostly in Elektro, and is possibly because of all the AI zombies including the hero and bandit AI are too many in numbers, I don't know.

 

All the other little bugs are fine as common sense usually steers me away from them.

 

Any light shed on this would be great.

The problems you stated are most likely server sided issues, only occurring on the server(s) that you play on. I thought the "mouse wheel issues" were fixed quite a while ago on "regular" DayZ

I remember when I had the problems that pressing P a few times would fix it, or opening and closing the map several times.

Best contact your Server admin if you don't get it working

Thanks for the reply dude :) This has happened to me on several servers which is the strange thing, and the admins say they can't figure it out either. But I'll try that and see how it works for me, seems to always happen to me in helicopters for some strange reason..

Ok dude if this is the Standalone than those glitches cannot be helped that much. I suggest waiting for a patch that fixes it. You should have known it was going to be buggy when you bought an Alpha release of the game. Also those invisible AI are not AI at all. The only AI in this game are the zombies and the animals (the animals cannot harm you). These invisible people are most likely Hackers or 'Script Kiddies'. In other words they are illegally manipulating the game for their own benefit/enjoyment, and your detriment. Wait for a patch that fixes the security.

 

If its the Mod it is almost the same except the server you play on has low security or no active admins. Contact the server owner/admin/community and get them to update to the latest DayZ patch and patrol their servers. Or you can find a new server. Get DayZ Commander and follow these steps:

Otherwise wait for patches in Standalone. In the Mod find a new server, look on BIS/DayZ forums for mouse scroll glitch. Goodluck..
