Freaks_r_uz 0 Posted January 9, 2014 I'd like to see the new Dayz SE map added to DayZ mod. For several reasons. 1. The beta not going to be out for atleast a year.2. Some of us are poor can't afford big pc rigs3. the new map rules in every way.4. too much time invested in our own servers, just to dump it, plus it would be a nice add on B)5. the map is so much bigger and fresher, with all the new area. Like more milltery bases, swamplands, and the whole north part of the map.6. its just too sweet to keep it to just one game. :( It does not have to be 100% copy from standalone. You can even use the dayz mod buildings in it. It's just with all the dayz mods out there today, this one could bring more life back into the mod, for atleast till beta is out. thedogfoodyayho 295 Posted January 9, 2014 You don't need a "Big rig" to run SA.Plus, the new map would be massively OP in the mod, becuase theres, i think 20 barracks in it. In addition, i tried porting Chernarus+ into Arma 2 and 3, and it worked, but the Buildings, plants, roads, rocks, water, ect wouldn't work. So basically i had the Grass abd dirt. So they would have to replace ALL the trees and rocks, buildings, roads, railways, powerlines, phonelines, ect. And by the time they're done, SA is complete. gray-z@hotmail.co.uk 84 Posted January 9, 2014 There are so many people out there that have figured out how to add buildings, roads, scenery etc that it won't be long before some makes a very similar copy of the Chenarus+ map to the Mod. Right now though I would hope that they keep as much of Standalone to themselves as it's good for sales and the more money coming in helps with increased development and team building so that things can move along faster. Though with all the money that's come in in such a short amount of time I hope that things start to make real progress on a month by month basis from here onwards. One issue that will arise though is performance will be reduced as SA is far better optimized than the mod. You don't need a military grade gaming rig to run SA, you just have to be prepared to run on lower graphics settings. But for the mod there will be a lot more to render so everyone will feel the pain.
Freaks_r_uz 0 Posted January 9, 2014 The big rig pc wasn't about me, I run my own server with Dayzcc. I got 4.3 cpu, 16 gigs ram, and a HD 7850 gfx card. I'm ready to go with the new SA, but some of my kids friends they got 2 year old wal-mart pc. I feel so sorry for them, cause their parents is stupid, or tight wads. Like I said me, my kids, and friends love this game I just thought it maybe a fresh map. Hey thinks for your input on this.
gray-z@hotmail.co.uk 84 Posted January 9, 2014 I get that, was just putting it out there that even lower end PC's can run SA just as well as the Mod at the sacrifice of some 'prettiness'. Though it depends on the card holder if they will shell out for another game or not. @ thedogfoodyayho - The barracks count would be no more OP than some of the overwatch servers I've played that have probably 30+ barracks buildings and I believe that Chernarus+ has only 14. 3 x Balota airfield4 x Pavlovo Military Base2 x Zelenogorsk3 x Veresnik Military Base2 x NWAF That's all of them I think unless I've missed some  But again I'm pretty sure that someone somewhere will be taking cues from SA's map and reproducing it in the Mod. I'd be surprised if it wasn't being worked on already.
