I remember rocket mentioned something about radio stations long time ago, but I decided to come up with this idea. 

 

Let's add radio to the game. I'm not sure what do you need to talk on radio, but let's say you have all the things needed. You can now send radio messages, and people within the range of your radio signals who also have a radio or a walkie-talkie can hear you. These items will need batteries so that's a good way to make batteries more "wanted" item. You could send radio messages like:

 

"Can anyone hear me ? I need help, I'm by X and I need some medicine. If anyone can hear me please come help. "

 

or

 

"Anyone out there who can hear me, I need vehicle parts to run my car. I have many itemsf o trade"

 

or 

 

"If anyone can hear me, a group of bandits just passed Mogilevka, watch out and be careful" 

 

 

 

 

etc.

 

Also we have to make sure that our radio is turned off while we're playing in a group, otherwise some people could hear our conversation (if we're talking in-game) and maybe they will get information on where we are etc and they will try to hunt us.

Make use of those hand radios,

being able to pick a channel and use it between friends is a great idea and letting others that find another listen in if they choose your channel is awesome!

I don't know about walkie talkies, but a radio (radio as in the boxes you use to listen to a radio station) would be cool.

People in a server could set up their own "stations" and "shows," all on different frequencies.

And other people could get on a frequency and request help, giving latitude and longitude, and their situation.

Would be great for that medic team that has their post stickied in general discussion.

The responders will also face possible ambush.....which means more action and adventure experience in DayZ.... 8-)
