nyxe2k 12 Posted June 22, 2012 I was wondering if someone knows how tall a player is in DayZ. Tried to look around but didn't find anything figured it would be easier to ask.Thanks,Nyxe.
TheSexyGoat 5 Posted June 22, 2012 As in? I mean, what is the purpose of knowing that..?
nyxe2k 12 Posted June 22, 2012 If a player is 1.8 meters tall, you can measure them with the scope and if he's 4 mil dots high, it means i can do:1.8 (height of object in yard/meters) * 1000 / 4 (mil dot height) = 450 meters range to player. Assuming you're level with the target. Not confirmed this though but it's how it works in real life afaik.edit: if you have a sniper that zooms it wont be as accurate as the milldots (milliradians) will be off. But im not 100%. Grey508 17 Posted June 22, 2012 Yes, trying to aim while zoomed will "break" the mildot system. Use zoom to scan for targets or after you have a solid bead on your target - for very distant targets, this may result in the target 'dropping off" the scope. nyxe2k 12 Posted June 22, 2012 but the maths is sound right? if i figure out theyre 400m away, zero to 400, they will be direct in my center crosshair ? where the wires cross.

nyxe2k 12 Posted June 22, 2012 m107 milldots are accurate when zooming, not otherwise it seems. just tested it

The M107 scope does indeed range correctly at full zoom.
