Player Model Height? question

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if someone knows how tall a player is in DayZ. Tried to look around but didn't find anything figured it would be easier to ask.

Thanks,

Nyxe.

If a player is 1.8 meters tall, you can measure them with the scope and if he's 4 mil dots high, it means i can do:

1.8 (height of object in yard/meters) * 1000 / 4 (mil dot height) = 450 meters range to player. Assuming you're level with the target. Not confirmed this though but it's how it works in real life afaik.

edit: if you have a sniper that zooms it wont be as accurate as the milldots (milliradians) will be off. But im not 100%.

Yes, trying to aim while zoomed will "break" the mildot system. Use zoom to scan for targets or after you have a solid bead on your target - for very distant targets, this may result in the target 'dropping off" the scope.

but the maths is sound right? if i figure out theyre 400m away, zero to 400, they will be direct in my center crosshair ? where the wires cross.

You're right, "zoomable" scopes don't seem to follow any standard convention in regards to mildots. The M107 scope does indeed range correctly at full zoom.
