KrisL 0 Posted January 8, 2014 I just got day z and was really excited to play it over my 4 day weekend but im having some issues with the graphics. as I started the game I couldn't see anything behind the menu or even in the character creation everything was blank I played with the graphics settings a bit and was able to see some of the trees and shrubs but I had giant 2d polygons of brown and grey and green blocking out most of the picture and still no character was seen and when I tried to play the game the polygons were even worse they would move with utter chaos and made playing impossible I spent several hours going over the forums and with help from my buddy did a lot of the suggested help tips to fix the issue and managed to get the game to a point where I could see more of the back ground but still no character and the polygons were still there so I even uninstalled/reinstalled my graphics drivers and uninstalled/reinstalled the game now I was able to see the character and the surroundings even in normal game play but the polygons were still there obscuring most of the game screen and movement was still an unholy mess with chaotic polygons going nuts across the screen so I have shelved the game until I can get some help with my issues I am using a gateway computer model: DX4831running win 7 sp 1 64-bitintel core i3 cpu6 GB of RAMintel graphics media accelerator HDwith a 1600x900 res the computer is stock and unaltered since the day we bought it and from what I understand I should not have any problems running this game with this machine so without a support team that is easily accessible I turn to the forums and im praying someone here can help me fix my issues or im just going to write this game off as a waste of $30 so please help and thank you
bladekaizer 1 Posted January 8, 2014 well your primary issue is that you dont even have a video card you need a video card to play pretty much any non browser based game so yes you wasted the $30 but the plus side is you toss a decent video card in the system and you will be able to run dayz
Malvictus 1 Posted January 8, 2014 Yeah, if you want to do any serious gaming a standalone graphics card is a must. Integrated chips just don't have the needed computing power to run graphics intensive games.
