zimboy 5 Posted January 7, 2014 Hey all, I might be one of the few people who thinks the Mosin is about as powerfull as I'd like to see rifles get in the game, I just have to put this here.Any ways back on topic, I for one would love to see scope crosshair customization.Ok ok realisim.. Etc.. Sure I can have any crosshair I like on the gun of my choice in real life however it's not that simple, you would need a whole new scope etc..I would like to see the ability to change up your crosshairs for example your scope gets ruined you whip out a new crosshair atatchment. This would be a lot easier than creating brand new scopes for every situation, you get the basic scopes in game that attach to different types of guns with the ability to change your crosshairs by introducing a range of crosshair caps so to speak.Just type crosshairs in to google you get a VAST range of different looks which is amazing you find your favorite in game and add a level of customization to your gun rather than being stuck with the plain old boring crosshairs seen in every game out there. dubghall 36 Posted January 7, 2014 Well although variety is the spice of life... it might not be the spice of DayZ. Rice and Powedered milk again FTW.Where exactly would a survivor find an assortment of crosshairs? Id prefer different weapons found over this implementation any day. Not even meaningfully different (necessarily) but just different models...
Space Milk 195 Posted January 7, 2014 There are different crosshairs for different purposes.
MystoganXIX 78 Posted January 7, 2014 If your suggestion will put mildots in my long range scope, then sure. Support.
Capo 323 Posted January 8, 2014 If your suggestion will put mildots in my long range scope, then sure. Support.sounds like what he's saying. i dunno, we'll probably get more varieties of long range scope with different recticles, some with mildots, pso scope etc, but hopefully they're much rarer than the stock standard hunting scope. i think fitting a recticle into a scope would require some skills, that the average joe doesn't have. final point - finding the range of a target isn't very hard at the moment, you can use eye ranging, estimate how many mildots tall a target is, or use your map + pythagoras' theorem. It's not hard and i've gotten very accurate rangings from the map+formula, and been able to set up multiple killzones from my sniper's nests. i think my fov isn't set right because i'm sure as hell that the zombies 300 meters away look at least double that by my estimations.
l3g1onna1re 1 Posted April 11, 2014 @OP You don't realize ballistics or how guns work man. You can't just use whatever reticle you want and have it zeroed in. The reticles in the scopes are designed specifically for the chamber of the round. PSO-1 and PSO-1-1 is for 7.62x39m ammo. Those scopes have the (great)easy rangerfinder on them. But if you used it on an M4A1 that uses a 5.56m the reticle is useless.
