Changing Name any Issues?

Hey up,

 

Just joined a Day Z group but wondered if I changed my Steam ID to include the clan tags would it cause me to respawn as a new character or not?

 

Im guessing the only way to change your ingame name is to change your Steam name?

Last time i tried changing name it just created a new profile but kept the same character, so you might have to re configure your settings but you won't lose your gear or location.
