AK74 vs AKS-74U?

if they both taake the same inventory space is there any point using the U over the normal one?

I'd say AK-74 since the effective range is longer than the AKS-74u's. That's the only difference.

The standard has a longer range.. while the U is easier to use indoor where you can move much (you may have noticed that you're forced to lower the long gun rifles sometime, while you can have a short barrel weapon ready to use).

You're thinking of the Kobra. It's one of my favorite guns for its moderate availability, short barrel, and tactical sights.

The AKS-74u is pretty much a 'mini version' of the AK-74 and that's about it.
