FPS Issues with an AMD 7970 3gb

Recommended Posts

it still can play the game the card is not dead

You can play DayZ on an Intel HD 4000 and AMD are notorious for good graphics in their CPU. I use the CPU graphics because my laptop refuses to use it's Nvidia Geforce 610M (which is a crap card anyway).

Yeah, they were fine. He checked the drivers and they were all up to date

Always always always, drivers first.  Uninstall the driver, and reinstall the latest one found on their site.  Doesn't sound like it should work, but with computers, doing that kind of stuff sometimes works.

Maybe he means that random stuttering....like when I'm playing with good frames (30+), now BOOM it does down to like 8 FPS for short moment, then it goes back up to 30+.

I feel you bro, 40 fps when not in  big towns and cities.

20 (or even UNDER) when in towns like elektro or chernogorsk maybe even some other towns as well, it's to do with the Occlusion Culling, Draw Calls and a lot of other big things.

this will improve over time.

The Dayz mod runs fine with it, around 30 fps. He has 8gb of RAM and a AMDfx 4100 running at 3.6 ghz

Yeah sick mate, but you shouldnt of skimped out on the cpu.

Standalone is built to tax your cpu
