Timberwolf (DayZ)

Most bandits are posers

Recommended Posts

You guys are funny. I currently play by myself or with a friend. I'm trying to survive the zombies and if someone is nearby and is armed with a gun I'll probably kill them if I can. It is them or me.

If they have a torch or melee weapon I back away...

Telling people how to play makes absolutely no sense. Get a friend, perhaps from here, perhaps from real life, maybe from somewhere else, get on Vent/TS/Skype and survive.

You expect to enter a post-apocalyptic world with zombies and guys armed with crowbars and guns, while everyone struggles to get hold of the fairly limited resources, not to mention that the build is quite early, with not much to do, and you expect NOT to get shot?

:dodgy:

The reason people kill for fun in Dayz is because there isn't just much to it.

You find a weapon' date=' some beans and then you go look for more beans and weapons. And after you find them?Go look for more beans and weapons, maybe build a car.And then what are you gonna do with that car? You're going to use it to get more beans and weapons. There's no real objective except survive, but in this mod surviving at the moment has no real depth and gets boring easily.People want to have some fun with their toys, and zombies are boring to fight.

I understand this attitude, but I cannot accept it... and here's why: some people don't want to participate in the PvP aspect of the game.

What I have proposed in the past (and will continue to suggest) is the addition of PvP-specific zones in places like towns and airfields.

Players would know full well, entering one of these locations, that they are fair game. On the flip side, people couldn't just shoot on sight while you're chilling in the forest minding your own business, or climbing up and down a deer stand.

What's this? My spidey sense is tingling! I can already feel the "QQ/whine/carebear" posts coming my way! :D

If I get the drop on people' date=' I usually KOS just because that's what everyone else does, and I'm not about to lose all of my gear that took hours to aquire, JUST to see if someone is friendly. I don't really care, all I'm worried about is surviving and keeping the 5 others I play with alive as well.

[/quote']

Congratulations, you're part of the problem.

And if you didn't care, as quoted above, you wouldn't give in to your more primitive inclinations.

Problem? What problem? It sounds like Blown4Six is having a blast with his 5 team mates. As do I when I play with a friend online. Things are gonna get kind primative when 90% of the population are undead. Rules go out of the window.

When I lost my pistol, blood bag, shotgun, ammo and food when a sniper got the 2 of us was I gutted? Hell yeah! Was I angry? No. We were either sloppy (killing lots of zombies and making noise) or unlucky. It is part of the game.

Q: Turn PvP Off?

A: No. PvP is a core part of the DayZ atmosphere and we aren't going to restrict it. Just go inland away from the built up towns along the coast where players spawn.

Too bad....

I love the just go inland part of that statement. HAHAHAHA!

Yeah, been there, done that. Wasting hours to just be sniped in the middle of nowhere. Nah, why bother anymore? I'll just help crap this game up and run around like an idiot around spawn areas to gather essentials, meta-game (loot cheat sheet) and loot farm. Then sit in a treeline. Might as well. Nothing stopping me from doing so. Saving me from a lot time wasted as well. :D

Most people kill for fun because there's nothing else to do. Once you learn how to deal with zombies, farming for gear and cars is trivially easy. The only part of the game that remains unpredictable and interesting is hunting players.
