Cant switch to axe

I have m4 on quick slot 1 and an axe in 3, while holding my m4 in hands i press space for it to be in "fire ready" state and then i want to switch to axe (3) it starts to draw it from the back but immediately put it back for no reason. Have anyone else have this issue?

you can't switch if something  is held up (space). Put it down (space) and try again. If you try to switch with something held up you will put everything away
