Field of view

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else feel that the FOV is totally off in DayZ ? heres what i mean.

Basically when you increase your FOV you get more view from your left and right and everything becomes tighter and further away and thats all fine when not aiming down sight. But the way they have it right now for aiming down sight fov is really bad imo. Try this yourself ....get a gun and aim down sight then increase and decrease your fov....the more you decrease the fov the more the picture is zoomed in and the more you increase your fov the more you zoom out.

I think that there needs to be a set fov/zoom value for ADS so that no matter what your fov is when not aiming down sight ..everyone gets made to use the same fov value when aimed down sight resulting in everyone having the same amount of zoom.

Furthermore i can see people may have an issue with mouse sensitivity if being forced to use a certain fov in ADS so i think they should also add a ADS sensitivity slider.

Agree, Field of view should not be changeable and everyone should have the same. People using mosin and have lowest fov will get a really sick zoom level. I'm pretty sure that changing fov also changes the weapons accuracy but idk

Strange thing is I get a couple more fps with maxed out fov rather than zoomed in.

You would think with more stuff being rendered the frame rate would drop.

just because you can't see the objects to your left and right doesnt mean you havent rendered them....

thats stupid.

All they have to do is lock in the FOV down to something specific when you aim down sights so regardless of what your fov is everyone sees the same thing when aiming down the sights.

FOV slider is super important in pc gaming it will be the reason the stupid tpv can be removed.

I think thats what he meant but didnt explain properly ...he was talking about ADS FOV ...saying you shouldnt be able to change it. But yes like i said the ADS FOV should be locked at a set value.
