Switching Weapons/Gear While Moving

To let people know:

 

If you want to switch weapons or to your compass, etc. while running or walking and you don't want your character to halt mid-stride, hit the space bar to take the weapon/item out of aim mode, then hit the quick key for the item you want to switch to.

 

for an example, say I have my M4 out, but not aimed, and I am jogging my way through some forest, and I want to bring out my compass to check my heading. 1=M4, 3=Compass.

 

while holding W, I hit the 3 key, then Enter to go to First Person View, then Space Bar to bring the compass up into view, check my heading, hit Space to put it down out of view, then 1 to bring my gun back, and Enter again to go back to 3rd Person. All while holding W.

only switch items/gear/weapons while the item is down, and not up/aimed, and you shouldn't stop to get gear out or put it away. 

 

You want the steady dot, not the wibbly wobbly cursory wursory reticle for this to succeed.

Thats good info. Never even though of that. I think you should report that as a bug, your hotkeys should work no matter what position the weapon is in. Thanks for the heads up  B)
