[Suggestion]: Platform to help with the development of DayZ SA

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

Last night, as I watched the forum, I found this thread in which a user has made an AMAZING job with the sound of the game.

Leaving aside the fact that his work is amazing, I got the idea ... Why not create a platform where under certain rules, people can create their own work for the game? It would be like a place where people (as the user who has improved the sound) can upload their creations and then to vote for the best, later Rocket enter the content as part of the development of DayZ SA.

What do you think?

I believe that this way things will be streamlined in or 200%

Regards.

I think the biggest issue the dev's have (aside from many obvious issues) with letting the community 'contribute' directly is copyright issues. If a community member were to use 'someone else ' sound (or whatever) and that sound 'belonged' to yet someone else... well BI and the devs find themselves in hot water. Love the idea of the community helping 'directly', but in the 'big picture' its really not a very good idea.

Say someone made a 'pepsi' model, and got it in game, then pepsi comes and sue's for trademark infringement. (glaringly obvious example, but it gets the issue across...)

Yes, you and I can agree that that would only be 'free' advertisement for pepsi, how could they possibly be upset.

They arn't upset, they only see that pile of millions SA made and want a piece of it...

Bah. It would be easy to go around all of that. If one of the rules were "no copyrighted items in-game" there would be no problem.
