please help Steam error " unable to locate a running instance of steam"

today my friend bought me dayz standalone and when i had installed i tryed to run it when i recieved a pop up saying unable to locate a running instance of steam

i have uninstalled and reinstalled dayz and i have also tryed verifing the game chace through steam but still nothing.

i really need help please someone ive spent 5 hours searching.
