Moving and Takedowns

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

First!

So the movement in the game is a pain in the ass. We are aiming for realism and I love that but it is harder for me to move in game than it is to move in real life.

For example in real life I don't need to stop dead for a whole second to physically and/or emotionally prepare myself to sprint. FFS why don't we have the characters stretching out those hammies maybe doing a few lunges first. I don't care how many of those ugly bastards are trying to eat me I'm gonna limber up!

I actually think that fluid motion like frickin Half Life is closer to a persons actual ability than DayZ.

Second!

Does anyone else like the idea of takedowns similar to those in FarCry 3?

Now don't get excited I'm not talking about taking down a squad of tightly grouped players just by hitting the correct sequence of buttons. In fact I'll leave the takedowns of players up for debate.

I'm talking about going up to a zombie and performing a takedown animation or cinematic or whatever you'd call it. You know, *axe goes in the head zombie goes down, character has to pull axe out of zombie head* or *use sword to cut off zombies legs, finish with decapitation*

Now I have considered the frustration of not being able to act while this spectacular, blood-splattering, gorerotica takes place and to that I suggest like an action button or whatever. So these takedowns only occur if you attack while holding down a button.. fuckin genius I know

So these "takedowns" obviously not ideal for fighting hordes of zombies but perfectly suited for that last zombie or that lonely zombie with their back turned..

It would make us feel bad-ass :)

I had hoped that they'd implement movement like A3 has it... and the stances, yes! The fucking stances, I'm telling you! A3 also feels more fluid to me, but that might be imagination

Not sure, but with their shitty 12 year old engine, I don't think they got a lot to work with since they can't even fix the latter animations for like more than 5 years.
