So I keep thinking when I run into multiple mags, which should I take and from which should i just take the bullets? the coupled stanag or 40 rounds cmag. I guess its bullets capacity vs reload speed?

Generally take 40 round mags or dual 30/30. Unlike in ArmA where the 10 round mags provided better damage, there isn't any advantage to smaller mags.

60 rounders are the gold standard, accept no substitutes.

In the medical division we put a lot of thought into our gear.

60 rnd mags only, limit of 4. Ammo box with at least 300 rnds, at least one saline and epi pen pererson, ttsko top and bottom, helmets, gas mask optional, press vest strongly encouraged. Disinfectant and at least one set of cuffs per person, at least one rotten fruit per person, well drinking only, no cantines or bottles, rice for food. Pistol allowed but discouraged. Medical bandages only.

Grab what you can. But if you can or have to pick, take those with more ammo in them.

I recently got into a siege with me being the only person left on some roof. Could've cost me my life if I had any smaller mag size than 60 (30/30).

Simply because when the fight was over or about to be, a guy on comms (private comms) reminded me to check ammo, that I totally forgot about. Turns out I had one bullet left in the mag.

So, yeah, for me it's "The more the merrier" now.

20 rounds, 40 rounds looks silly, 30 is ok and I guess 60 is okay.

But 20 is just the bees knees.

30 round PMAGs please, no mag couplers.

I'd run a Ready Mag system, but mag couplers are simply a very effective way to get crap into the 2nd mag.

You don't have to reload after 30 rounds in coupled magazine, since it is some magical beast that can change the mag on fly, so coupled. But you really should prefer mosin over M4, so much better gun :)

30/30 since it just lets you shoot 60 rounds straight - this should be changed so it just gives you a way faster reloading time (maybe half or even less of what it is now).

Yea i'd say the coupled mag definitely however if you have found more 30 or 40 round mags stick with one type of mag so you don't get the option to switch mags, which can be very annoying when drinking or doing other tasks that involve the scroll menu. Also, you don't have to reload a coupled mag until all 60 rounds are depleted.

I would choose it simply based on looks.

Now that we are talking about mags, is there any info out there, if the cmags would be less reliable after time? I think i would trust the steel stanag mags more than i would trust the plastic cmag. (Unless that cmag is beta-mag, then i would trust it more :D)

Oh, I didn't know that the coupled stanag mags swap themselves magically. :D
