What does it mean when players near you are trying to restart the mission?

Mission? This game has no set mission.

 

Unless they have a mission.

Oh, I pinned these three guys killing new players on a peaceful server. When I got close all three of their names popped up saying they want to restart the mission.

If i'm not terribly wrong you are playing the mod. If that is correct then it's a leftover function from the arma 2 multiplayer. It is not used for anything in the dayz mod as far as i know.

I didn't even know what the mod was until a few days ago and heard of Arma 2 a couple of times. I have video of it.
