On the note of where rocket is...I would assume he is taking another break in the middle of a multimillion dollar project to climb another hill again.

I'm highly in favor.

What is currently planned I don't know, but it's something I would love to see made as thoroughly as possible.

I was climbing up a ladder to the top of a building in a city north of Kozlavko, I was really exposed on the ladder and sure enough I started hearing gunshots. The guy landed at least 4 shots on me before I got to the top and went prone to bandage. I took some shots back with a Mosin and they fled.

With the number of times I got hit, I should have been dead no doubt. So obviously the current system helped me in that situation, but it definitely could use some polishing

The reason I mention arma 3 is that that system should be easily imported due to DayZ basically being the alpha arma 3 engine that branched off.

 No Day z SA uses PIMPED  Arma 2 engine

I am sure he will come back and implement some type of frost bite system now lol.

This right here is uncalled for. You do realize it takes months, if not over a year, to plan an ascent of the magnitude that he did. 

 

Whooptiedo he can climb a big rock. he didnt earn any respect for doing what has been done time and time again.

I just wish that 1 bullet in legs/palvis would be enought to break them or at elast force player to walk only.

I want to see that limp animation already.

I'd like more visual & sound effect, when you are hit in the head. I mean with fists or blunt weapons, when you do not get into coma.

Some ringing, blurry vision and other stuff you guys already mentioned.

One game in particular that I think gets this almost perfectly is Dwarf Fortress.

 

In Dwarf Fortress, many wounds aren't instantly fatal but will proceed to kill you if not quickly dealt with. Every wound causes some sort of debilitating effect; there's nerve damage that can make you lose grasping ability or lose use of a limb entirely. There's different severity of bleeding, from light from a small cut to heavy, unstaunchable bleeding from a nicked artery. You die of suffocation with two pierced lungs; you instantly die from most brain damage.

 

This is sort of a long rant but I feel like DayZ needs more of these effects and less "this weapon deals a set amount of damage, two shots will kill". It should really vary depending on where you were hit.

 

Shot through a lung? Maybe you'll survive, but you're probably not going to be running around afterward. A buddy could patch you up with proper medical equipment and maybe keep you alive, or you could just give up and die (hit Respawn).

 

Shot in the leg? Bleeding and infection are your worst worries, but you're not going to die immediately.

 

Shot in the head? You're (almost definitely) dead.

 

Beaten up by zombies? You're in quite a lot of pain, maybe bleeding, maybe some cracked ribs or broken bones.

 

Nicked artery, gushing blood? You'll survive the initial attack, but the bleeding is too heavy to stop; you quickly pass out and die.

 

This sort of variety would really make surviving the apocalypse and caring for yourself much more complex and nuanced than the simpler system in place right now.

Was thinking a bit more about this. I think there should be a few different "threat levels". For instance.

Things that might kill you from being attacked.

1st- Initial damage. Brain and Heart are examples of instant kill spots.

 

2nd- Bleeding out. Even if you survive the initial onslaught you might bleed to death.

 

3rd- Shock/Heart attack. So the attack didn't kill you and you got bandaged up. There is still a chance you go into shock (in game already although not activated yet) or have heart issues. This is where the defrib comes into play.

 

4th- Infection. So you survived the worst of it all but still run the risk of having infected wounds. Use the alcohol to clean it and a fresh bandage and you should be ok. Neglect your wounds and you will be in a world of hurt.
