Almost residental can have mosin in it. Also cars, industrials, barns and office buildings are good places to find one.

Yeah, from experience it works best with 4door sedans, rather than trucks etc. It's easiest to see if you look on the front seats.

after 26 hours never found 1 yet either but I did find a dead body with a moisin and a scope with couple rounds. Its a great gun for sniping

There are a single room on the last floor that spawn one weapon usually, it can be a pistol, an m4a1 and a mosin so far.

9 times out of 10 you will find it on the office building roof also sometimes called the school.
