Problems with ingame chat

Hey Guys i really need your help. last night i was playing dayz with a friend and we tried to talk to other survivors. my friend was able to hear and read the messages of the strangers but i am not. then we tried to speak over the direct communication channel. he can read my messages but i cannot read messages of him. i think its a problem with my settings. Help me :/
