Bring back global chat

Please, I am completely new to the game and I thought it would be fun because of the youtube videos and rave reviews and because i am tired of the standard fps. DayZ Is the only reason I even bought Arma II, instead when i join i must get killed over and over and over because i have no weapon and the searchable buildings are filled with zombies so how am i supposed to search? Sometimes I get repeatedly spawn killed on the coast by bandits for my few supplies i start with and i cant defend myself or ask for help. I cant ask for help because there isnt any global chat yet everyone else can use global. This makes it nearly impossible and incredibly boring to play. It literally brings tears to my eyes typing this and knowing i just wasted 30 bucks on this game I can never truly play while everyone else still gets to benefit from the old version :(. Just please bring back global chat so I can at least get help. Waiting 5 mins for the zombie that detected me to kill me and then another 5 for the hour glass is one thing but watching everyone chatting without me being able to reply is killing me. I understand you guys want realism but in a world this big you MUST keep the global chat open or when you update everybodys game, your gonna lose a lot of frustrated people.

This is controlled server-side at the moment, I believe.

It is not. I got the beta client since I just got the game today. I do not have the option of selecting the cyan colored global chat. I only have vehicle, direct, and the green chat in every server I've tried.

It is indeed server-side controlled. Some servers still have the chat global, others have not. The non-global chat is the default for the latest patch, this should be changed leaving servers the option to turn off the global chat.

ohh thank goodness, i was soo worried I thought this game just died. How long until they update and i can get the global chat option back for the servers that do allow it?

And it is not server side for newer players, we got the crummy beta client which is the newest version and it does not allow global chat on any server.

In my opinion this should be forced off, I believe rocket has mentioned something about radios (sorry can't find a source) being a possibility in the distant future which would allow you to communicate further.

If you were an actual survivor in this situation, you can't just automatically communicate with everyone on the map, the 40meters thing is fine, should attract zombies though if you use it.

I suggest that a radio can be found and added to your tool-belt. Once you have access to that radio you will be able to access and use global chat/speak. Simple solution and is realistic.

I don't think it should be a server option but a MOD option to keep it consistent. Add a radio so PLAYERS can choose to have it or not to have it.

Ok I understand, yall want a hardcore zombie survival simulator, and that is absolutely fine, but shouldn't casual gamers and especially new players who need help at least have the option to use global chat on a server that allows it? I like the radio ideas too and just found out zombies cant run indoors so now I don't hafta just wait to die when they spot me. I might have learned that earlier had I been able to ask in game tho lol. Thank yall for putting up with my noob self and I'll get out yalls hair, I just hope I find someone on a server to talk to and team up with soon.
