Best settings to improve FPS for radeon 6850.

Recommended Posts

so i have a radeon 6850 and at the mo i am playing on normal settings with postprosses quality disabled.

i get about 30-35FPS in forest areas and at bet 20FPS in large city's with it dropping as low as 10FPS.

If i drop the settings down to low i don't get much more but the game looks god awful when i do so i am looking to see if anyone has messed with the video settings enough to push the most FPS as they can get with a radeon 6850 or even a 6870.

PS. i have the newest drivers for the card installed also or does anyone know a earlier set of driver's that will work better with this game?

I own a 6870 (Upgrading to a 7870 within days) and I would make sure to turn things like Terrain and Cloud quality down, as most of the time you don't want sharp clouds, and terrain is obscured by the foliage anyway. Set the video memory to 1024MB and turn off Vsync. Apart from that, just use Catalyst to overclock it if you can take the extra heat, and make sure you up your CPU as well. I know how bad it can look, and I'm afraid your gonna have to deal with it until some hardware update comes to reduce the strain on the GPU.

I have a 5870 and never have dropping framerates... Resolution is my native one, anything related to textures is at max (except for their resolutions, which are at 100%), objects to the lowest, low anti aliasing, and shadows off.

IMHO, object settings is a killer.
