Jusst Add the Respawn for Alpha

I'd like to see the ability to respawn while alive during the Alpha.

 

There are still so many bugs with the game it should be on. With all the people getting stuck unconscious for hours or being stuck in limbo or just breaking their legs when walking over railroads, rocks, etc., it seriously would be the easiest hotfix to insure players can still PLAY THE GAME THEY PAID FOR. It's an Alpha and I can understand there being bugs, and even with the bugs I play the game and report issues, but when I'm stuck because of issues already brought up, but not fixed it seriously the worst thing a developer could do.

 

I know its turned off because they dont want people using the respawn to deny loot or whatever, but seriously that is a minority of the people that would use this feature to get unstuck from a buggy game.

You CAN respawn if you are unconscious or have broken legs.. In the many hours logged on the SA so far, I have yet to find a reason to use the respawn button when I'm not unconscious.

I agree, both for the reason the OP stated, but also the fact that this Alpha places a lot of priority on bugtesting, and it makes sense for the players not to be stuck in a position where they can't try out the game.

 

Too many people see this as the game being released early, when in actual fact it's a chance for reactions to the game development and to help bugtest (they have an entire other site set up for the sole reason of rooting out bugs)

You CAN respawn if you are unconscious or have broken legs.. In the many hours logged on the SA so far, I have yet to find a reason to use the respawn button when I'm not unconscious.

I got stuck inside a building and had to wait about an hour to die because of a glitch, i had no option to respawn so there is a reason, FYI i got stuck in buildings 3 times in 2 days

I have been stuck inside walls many times as well, you can get out by simply standing near the wall and switching servers. Usually works after the first or second switch for me. Never had to wait to die.

Across 2 days and probably 4 hours I have been stuck not being able to do anything with my inventory, interact with the world, see others, kills zombies, pull out my weapons, jump, do ANYTHING. The only way I've fixed this the other times this has happened to me is die. People aren't using the feature to cheat they are using it to play the game, and sersiously if the biggest fear is people using it to spawn somewhere else then I don't think you understand what the point of an Alpha is. The game is entirely for PLAYtesting, not for competiive ultra realistic-mode MLG Day Z fantatics. The developers should be fixing real issues that are causing people to want to use this feature before fixing "combat logging" (which is a joke fix in itself with the logout timer idea and server switching time delay) and other bullshit player issues. Alpha is for making the game WORKING and playable to test.

I have had this happen to me, except it's only when sprinting long distances and I'll suddenly teleport back a kilometer and be stuck spinning with no input. If this is what you're referring to, how would having a respawn option solve this? If you can't access the ESC menu? BTW, the fix for this is closing the game and coming back in.

No my character can use the menu, but other than that other people just see me standing still and I can run across the whole map and rejoin the server and it saves my position. I cant interact with anything though and the inventory says Receiving.

I have tried this option when i was once glitched inside a house in kamenka with no avail.

Respawn has yet to work for me when I am unconscious.
