Lost all gear from switching server?

I had just looted a military barracks and nabbed myself a sweet M4A1 and a mag, as well as a mountain backpack and a gas mask. So, fair to say, I was doing farily well.

 

But then it became nighttime, and I hate nighttime, so I switched server. I switched to what I though was just another public, normal server. (I would get their names if the server history was working)

 

When I spawned on this server I was a fresh spawn. I realized it was probably a private server and my stats were still saved on the public network, so instantly I switched to a server I know to be public. And there I was, on the beach with jeans and a t-shirt... lost all my things across al public servers. On the main menu my character was also reset.

 

In the early Alpha I kinda expect to lose all my gear to stability issues but this is one nasty thing. Even if it was a private server I lost all my public server progress, which shouldn't happen.

 

So my question is has anyone else encountered this, and more importantly does anyone why this happened?

As unfortunate as that is, it's bound to happen due to the game's early levels of development. the kinks are being ironed out! Try not to get too attached to your gear at this point as you may lose it through connections issues, crashes and resets.

I've had this happen to me several times when looking for a nightime server, just switch through a few more servers and you might get it back. I assume the information gets lost somewhere but it can be found again, thats also happened to me.

 

You have to log immediately when you spawn fresh again though I think, without playing the new guy.

this and the scripters are pretty much making the game unplayable atm...i cant even log out to go take a piss and switch servers without onlogging in  gettin a red chain d/c/the map having been nuked by scripters/or havin my guy reset...

 

i mean i take all the time to run north and to out of the way places to bgu test just to get scripted or something and reset back no the coast...the last few days ahve just been stupid filled with hacks and scripts and resets its so dumb...get back to work and fix this shit.

This happened to yesterday. I was pretty bummed out, but my friend suggested for me to go on for a bit and i got all my stuff back. So keep joining servers and see if you get your gear back.
