Can water from ponds make you sick? It has ver made me sick before yet there are purification tablets and people seem to think it can make you sick.

stagnant water ( pond or lake water ) is considered unclean & to be avoided unless fresh runoff from snow pack .

streams & rivers ( or moving water ) is much safer , but should still be filtered or cleaned as the probability that something has died or defecated further upstream is considerable , contaminating the water .
