turshija 1 Posted December 28, 2013 (edited) I sometimes have the same problem.I can hear everyone, but people can't hear me ... So I ask them to come to teamspeak/skype where my mic works as it should. But sometimes people can hear me without problems ...I have also noticed that sometimes my sound in game crashes (goes mute) and only way to get it back is to restart game... :( Edited December 28, 2013 by turshija
Aporis 422 Posted December 28, 2013 You guys need to have the mic you use as your default input device, go to control panel, audio settings and input devices. *Right click* Select the mic you use as a Default device.
maliceubx 73 Posted December 28, 2013 (edited) The most common reason for your mic not working in game is due to it not being set as the default input device in your control panel. While in VOIP programs you can specifically choose which device you want to use, in steam it only relies on what your computer tells it to use. To check to see if this is your problem first open up a program like Teamspeak and check to see which input device you're using for a properly working mic and remember its name. next go to your control panel and from there click on the sound icon. Under sound there should be 4 tabs at the top, one of them being named "Recording" - click it. In this tab you should see some devices that may be installed on your computer. Find the one named the same thing as the one you saw in your VOIP program and right click it. Under the right click menu click on "Set as Default Device" and "Set as Default Communications Device". Close out of everything and restart steam, boot it up and test it out in DayZ. Edited December 28, 2013 by CDriVe1335
aseliot 23 Posted December 28, 2013 (edited) Okay i set it to default hope it works now. I didn't know you had to do that as the windows bar was indicating sound when I talked into it. Edited December 28, 2013 by Aseliot
