Hello, new player questions

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just bought SA because almost everyone I know who plays it says it's awesome and good and yes, I do know what an alpha is, I bought ArmA 3 back in March when it was first released.

As an ArmA player I played the mod last year in july, didn't like it mostly because of ArmA 2 gameplay, the movement was just too clunky considering most of the time I was trying to run away from zombies chasing

So, here are some questions:

-Where should I go as soon as I spawn? What are my tasks?

-Do people always kill you just like the mod?

-What changed from the mod?

-I see people saying they won't go to the north until Balota problems are fixed, what are these problems?

Thanks!

-Where should I go as soon as I spawn? What are my tasks?

Survive. Collect food & water. Go to one of the major cities Elektro or Cherno

-Do people always kill you just like the mod?

Not always, but in my experience most of them do when they can. Try to express your friendly purpose

-What changed from the mod?

Map, items. Not to much but its better (and keeps getting better)

-I see people saying they won't go to the north until Balota problems are fixed, what are these problems?

Balota has end-game loot ATM, so there is no reason to get your M4A1 north, cuz you can get it in Balota aswell.

-You can go anywhere you want when you spawn. It's a sandbox! Although a suggestion is that you head to Balota, Cherno, and Elektro to get some basic loot and maybe a gun.

-Some people KOS like in the mod. It's taking a risk if you don't, but some people are friendly.

-Although many things remain similar, nearly everything was redone from the mod. You will have to try it out for yourself.

-Balota has endgame loot. It is just simply too easy to gear up.
