5 second disconnect timer still not enough

Recommended Posts

So I was over elektro, sniping (I'm an ass, yes, just went down to blow off some steam from server shenanigans causing vehicle loss). I see two targets on the roof of the firehouse, I drop one, and then go after the other. He goes after his buddy's stuff, then lays down next to him and completely stops moving. I figure, great, easy shot. I line up the shot, take it, and see the blood spatter. No murder in my debug monitor, so I take another shot. Again, blood spatter. And another. Three shots land generally on and/or around the head, but no player kill is credited, and suddenly the player's body disappears. Now, does this mean the player is going to come back in dead? And if so, isn't this still an imperfect fix, seeing as you could still alt+f4 just to deny someone your gear?

Tl;DR killed a player during their 5 second dc timer, no kill credited. dc timer broken?

It should be 90 seconds timer, so everyone would make sure to DC on "safe" spot.

The way how to handle it:

When someone want to disconnect trough menu his character SIT's on the floor and 90 seconds timer starts, if you do not move your character after 90 it gets disconnected.

In case character moved or was attacked the timer resets.

While siting you have the option to quit game but your character is registered on server for the rest of the timer.

In case you alt+f4 or kill arma2 client your character stays behind for 90 seconds.

With such feature no more escaping and reseting zobmies or avoiding PvP with ALT+F4. It would also in some way prevent constant respawning to get on a better location.
