Pens and Paper

I have a badly damaged pen, and I have pristine paper.. I can drag the pen to the paper and it says "write on paper", but it does nothing..

 

If I click "read note", it does nothing..

 

If I put the pen in my hand and put the paper on the ground and mouse-over it and click "write on paper", it does nothing..

 

Anyone know what gives?

Okay, so it doesn't work yet? I could swear I've seen photos of notes, and people saying that they work.
