Performance Issues

Recommended Posts

I meet system req but this game runs so poorly on my pc.. I don't have new pc its not high-end gear. But i pass all the req. I put everything disabled or very low and still game just runs poorly. In the future updates that Rocket announced i didn't see anywhere that he wrote that they will be improving performance. I buy'd it only for better performance and to support them for making free mod but its just a waste of money if i cant play it normally. I know its early Alpha but i just want some kind of response from developers team will they make the game run smoother because i saw one dev blog he was playing on shitty laptop :D i want to play like that too :P

It is becouse of how mod/standalone is. It is heavy dependent on CPU.

dont you think they should write it down somewhere so people dont buy the game and then they cant enjoy it . I think they should raise the minimum req on steam page. If the game is dependent on CPU the should raise the minimun CPU req so other buyers can see true req.

Well they kinda did write it down everywhere that it is alpha and you should not buy it, unless you really, really know what you are getting yourself into.

I know its early Alpha i just hope they will focuse on performance.. The game just needs a normal engine. The Infestation doesnt look bad and i can put all on high and they have loot respawn. But gameplay is not even similar so i hope that one of their main focuses is making the game available  to everyone.

I had crash issues, went in settings and set video memory from auto to 512mb. Cleared alot of performance problems for me

Well, sadly you will not be able to run DayZ Alpha and I am guessing you'll never be able to run DayZ properly with your rig.

I feel sorry for you, but maybe Dean and the team will get some amazing performance boosting fixes and we can all enjoy Chernarus at 60fps. ^^

Optimisation is never done in alpha as it would just cause problems and have to be redone later. DayZ will be better optimised in future.

Also, minimum requirements =/= you can run the game without it either crashing or giving you an error message and refusing to open. I would never buy a game unless I was well above the min. requirements as they guarantee only that you will be able to run the game, not that you will be able to enjoy it.

So the only thing i can do is buy new CPU.  While waiting for better days to see better DAYZ i will keep runing and look at clouds to get my 60 FPS :D and every game i played in past that i meet the minimum req i could play it on normal settings and enjoy it. This game just has garbage engine and thats it. I feel bad not for buying the game i enjoyed DAYZ mod and it was free so i feel good for giving something to developers. I feel bad because they advertise the game on their dev blogs that will be optimised with low system req and i am afraid it will never be like that. DAYZ on very high looks ugly compared to BF3 on normal and i can run BF3 with no problems, no lags, no nothing :D And i am not on the minimum i am in the middle of minimum and recommended. I didnt meet min req on Far Cry 3 and i played it on normal settings . I am not saying nothing against DAYZ i love the game.l know its EARLY, EARLY, EARLY ALPHA ( at least  i hope so that is very early alpha ) but the engine is VERY. VERY, VERY BAD. The game just take more power then it gives. Guild Wars 2 is CPU demanded game and still i play it with no problems. So i will sit and read forums, watch streams and hope that this game will become what that talked about in all that dev blogs and all that posts. I hope that one day i would look at al that copy paste houses and have 30 FPS on normal settings.

P.S Sorry for my bad english :P

I desided to try and install dayz to over 5 year old laptop. It doesn't even meet requirements and i get ~30fps more or less. Check fps threads and see if those help.
