Blackscreen upon starting the game

Hi, my friend just bought the game for me on steam and i instanly want to play of course, but when my download was done and i tried starting it i got a blue screen (at first) no windows error blue screen but just a simply plain blue screen, i tried fixing my computer monitor adn those things but then decided to redownload the game, after the redownload i started the game again, this time i got aplain black screen and hearing sounds in the background like bird chattering and wind, my frined told me this was the menu screen later on, and now im stuck! I dont know what to do, im just sitting here waiting for something to happen. Please help *sorry for bad english* This is the standalone version

The Game Raped you. either your settings are to high, or your settings to high.. dude think... it goes blue or black becuase your graphic card or screen can't take it seriously !!!!!

Well i know that i dont have any issue hardware wise but i get past the first to "Brandings" then cant load past that.....
