griffinz 2816 Posted May 12, 2012 Please, learn to distinguish between what is in scope of the mod, and what is in scope of the game engine. If you are having trouble distinguishing, go and play the original Arma for an hour or so. Learn it.Also, make sure you post in the appropriate forum. Im sick of seeing suggestions and troubleshooting threads in general discussion. If I see it continue, I will just instant lock/delete.Thanks.

dunkhan 8 Posted May 12, 2012 Oh man, now all the newbies are going to start clamouring for attack choppers and main battle tanks.
griffinz 2816 Posted May 12, 2012 Hah...that always happens. The last bastion is the ACE/ACRE servers. No arma newbie can figure those mods out

savini 587 Posted May 12, 2012 At least play through some of the boot camp missions.I try to help the nubz in-game, but half the time the questions I answer are things like "how do I get over this fence?" or "how do I put stuff in my bag?" or even "how do I pick stuff up?"I'm putting an FAQ together to explain the basic arma mechanics, should be done by tomorrow. beeman 1 Posted May 12, 2012 I figured out how to ACE mod without knowing anything about arma. I first ran ACE in arma1 and let me tell you, that was a BAD idea for first experience >_>I traumatized a bunch of my friends against arma by trying to play ACE with them...That said, more people need to play regular ArmA/OA in addition to this outstanding mod. oilman 72 Posted May 12, 2012 Alright, just wanted a heads up from you, since I wasn't aware if on these forums reporting was reserved for bannable offenses. Shall do so from now on.
Riemer 23 Posted May 12, 2012 All the trivial questions should be answered with one phrase and one phrase only.Play the damn tutorials.
Zombie Squirrel 5 Posted May 12, 2012 Hah...that always happens. The last bastion is the ACE/ACRE servers. No arma newbie can figure those mods outYes! If only Rocket added an ACE version of DayZ, we wouldn't have to say in global chat again and again "go play Arma2 Tutorial first please"...:)Also thank you, with the huge influx of people from all over the internets this forums IMNSHO need every bit of moderation they can get. I think a system like in official bistudio forums would be nice, where your few first posts ever need to be approved before they appear, along with strict "Search before you post" policy. Although I don't know if the mods have got the manpower for that :)

robertstuartmarshall 1 Posted May 21, 2012 After over 10 attempts over the years to finish Basic Training in the boot camp of Arma 2, I have given up. There is always one thing that either bugs out or just doesn't happen. The latest one was the officer telling me to Javelin the furthest wooden target when the game decided to not spawn any Javelin ammo. Oh, the joy. :)
