What Happened In My First Day Of Day Z Standalone

Day Z Day One:

 

Wow, it was a bit of a Dusy . I started off way to the very bottom 

left of the town, right near Balota, Cherno and such places. I walked 

for a couple of minutes until I ran into my very first town, the 

town was small and didn't have much loot. All I found was some food 

and some water, but it's not like that is a bad thing. More food and 

water well allow me to travel longer distances without having to 

constantly stop at nearby houses to loot for more food and such. 

After going through my looting spree, I continued on East of the town 

on one of the main roads, after even more walking I ran into my 

second town, which was none other than Kamarovo! Kamarovo was when 

all the fun started to happen. 

 

As I was looting about finding food and such things I stop to check 

the Day Z map which I had up Alt+Tabed on my Steam over lay, while I 

was doing that I heard a voice over the VOIP say "Hey, citizen." At 

first I of corse freaked out a bit, but when I noticed the guy had a 

M16 and I wasn't dead yet, I just kinda talked a bit with him. After 

a bit of talking he explained how he was with a clan of people on 

this server called "The Republic" (IIRC). There were lots of more 

people and Kamenka, Komarovo were their territory and that they 

patrolled and picked off any Zombies or Bandits. They never fired 

unless their were fired upon also.

 

I told him about how I was looking for a friend and how if he could, 

could he escort me to the crane (the crane was were my friend was at 

and where we were going to both head to) He said he could take me all 

the way to the East border of Balota and that's about how far heed 

take me. I said that'd be fine and that we should head off now. After 

a bit of walking we ran into a small military compound that 

was in the entrance of Balota. I told him since we were here we mind 

as well go and loot the place.

 

He agreed and we went on inside. Most of the tents and such just 

had M4 custom stocks and such, and stuff like that was useless for me 

sense I had literally no gun at all. He took a couple of things and 

I took about one thing. WHile we were sitting in our compound and he 

was taking stock a crazy man with a crowbar comes rushing in, he 

rushes in, hits the guy about twice, he sprays him down, and the guy 

DC's before I'm able to get his loot.

 

Hes bleeding a bit and I hand him some spare bandages that I had on 

me. He patched up, we looted a bit more for a bout a good three 

minutes and that's when we finally headed out and continued to 

Cherno. Not much happened on the walk there, he explained to me about 

how his people tries to take care of most of the zombies and that's 

how all the towns are so clear of zombies.

 

About five more minutes passes and we run into another small town, which I do not remember the name of, but it was on the outskirts of Cherno, we walked a bit more when we ran into a couple of zombies, he of corse took care of them all. Finally at this point is when the story of us two finally ends. He talks about how he can't go on any further, and about how that one guy he killed might have friends and how he has to defend the towns and such.

 

I tell 'em "Well alright" and we part ways. I continued my way to Cherno and he continues walking back the way where Kamako would be at. I walked for a good five or ten minutes when I see the large town of Cherno in the distance.

 

My friend tells me about how the yellow crane is where I should be heading to find him, after a couple of minutes struggling to i find out where the hell the yellow I finally see it and walk right on towards it. I see him sitting right by the crane and we finally meet and go "hell yeah!"

 

After meeting with my friend in Cherno, I explained to him about the "ranger" I met along my travel to Cherno. He said that was pretty cool and nice of the guy and we continued on like normal. I we decided we would loot the outskirts of Cherno a bit not going into the city it's self because we both had no weapons. Right next to the crane it's self is a small construction site, he said he didn't touch the construction site and yet and maybe we'd find a weapon of some sort to defend our self.

 

We walked on in, lurked about and to our luck we found a wrench and an axe. I took the axe and he took the wrench. I suggested that since we don't have much food and not much of a good weapon to defend out selves against other players we should head back to where I found the ranger guy, and that if we did go back to stay on the train tracks because that seems to be the safest place to travel with, maybe the ranger lend us some type of weapon or show us where we'd find some great loot. He said sure and we continued on the outskirt of the town, looting some homes an old abandoned train station.

 

We didn't find much but about two cans of food and a water bottle. Once we got outside the town, he told me about all the great stuff he picked up, including a Med kit, some Saline, and other medical things. Nothing much really happened on the way. After about 5 minutes of walking once again, we ran into Balota and its old miltary base once again, thinking maybe the loot spawned I gave the idea of checking the place once again maybe we'd find a gun of some sort. To our dismay we ran into nothing but some old parts to a M4 and clothing.

 

We continued on passed the military compound to the town it's self, the first building we looted was a big red home, which was suggested from my friend because "the big homes have better loot" he was indeed right, we went inside and we found our very first gun! The Mosin 9130. It had 30 ammunition along with it. I said to him and to my self "as much as I know guns aren't as loud as guns in the mod, we should still only use this on other players, I mean this axe instant kills, it's good enough for a primary weapon if you ask me."

 

We continued on looting the place and didn't find much, just some looting of general bits and bobs like food and some water. We exited the town and soon after entered the town of Komarvo. I said "this is where I met the ranger, maybe if we walk about we will find him. Follow my lead." We at first entered another big red building, he took the left side I took the right side. As soon as we enter I hear "Guys in the Red home, identify your self." I came down and went "Woah, we are friends of one of the rangers.' He said "Put the axe down and we will talk" I sheathed the axe and talked to him "I'm a friend, on of your Rangers escorted me down partway to Cherno to meet with my friend, we came back to trade and give the guy some stuff for helping us." He shook his head and said "Well I have a friend coming down now for backup, if this is the guy you can give him what you want now."

 

All three of us went outside and waited for the other guy to show up, and it was none other than the guy who helped me find my friend! I told him about how we got all this loot on our way and how we came back to trade what we have and to give you payment for what you did for us. I dropped the ammo for rifle, for I knew the Rangers were low and ammo and I thought that anything would count. He picked up the ammo and said "Thanks" after a bit more conversation my friend asked "So, where would you guys say is a good place to loot near by?"

 

He talked about how down the road behind him there is this intersection, and if you follow it to the left it will lead you down to a military base that usually has a M4 or if not a weapon and some ammo in it. We said our thanks, they said their thanks and we said good bye and continued on down the intercetion the guy was talking about.

 

A good 15 minutes of walking later we finally came upon the military base the guy was talking about. It was decently big and has lots of places we could loot. We started off with some of the barracks first. My friend stopped and turned and said "I call the next gun since you got that one!" I agreed and we continued on. We looted around 5ish barracks, we found two large backpacks, some helmets, and some ammo. At around the 3 to 4th barrack we looted we ran into an M4. I was thinking "I should totally just take and not say anything." but because I thought that'd be a dick move I just called him over and told him there was a M4 right at the entrance of this Barrack.

 

He took it, it was badly damaged and had no ammo though... We than went down to the large building which was a hospital, there were two. We took the first hospital first, we found some pain killers, some saline, and charcoal tablets. In the second one we found some more ammo that didn't work with our guns, two more Mosin rifles (I only took one hoping the Rangers would trade it for some food or something), and some bandages. At that point my friend said "Well it's getting late, let's find a good spot to DC. We will continue all day tomorrow" I said "Alright". We exited the base and ran into the forests. About 3 minutes of walking in the forests we found one of those dear stands. I said "Hey, let's just go up here, prone, and DC here. Players won't find us, and zombies can't climb ladders." He agreed, we both walked up, and DC'd.

Yeah mate i bet it took a while...

 

So in short:

• You met ranger
• He helped you part of the way to get to your friend and during the process you got attacked by a bambi with a crowbar.
• You found your friend, started looting for weapons for self defence (found mosin-M4) ammo
• You decide to run back and try find the ranger to give him some gear to thank him.
• You find his friend and meet up with the ranger shortly after. ( you thank him etc etc)
• then you go to loot a bit more and find a safe place to DC.

End of story

I love reading stories like this. I'm guessing it reads completely different from a bandit's tale:

 

"Killed stranger on the beach. Then went east and killed some douche that looked at me funny. Looted some stuff. Killed some dude who was looting some stuff. Shot a guy but he escaped. Looted some stuff. Bumped again into guy I had shot. Killed him. Had an amazing social interaction: some guy with an m4 approached me from behind as I was looting some stuff and asked for directions. I gave him the directions, he thanked me, then as he turned around I killed him. Disconnected."

 

Sadly, I suspect that if you write another story a week from today, it'll be very, very different in tone :P.

Yeah mate i bet it took a while...

 

So in short:

Dayum son, that was a long story. Worth the read though, it proves that there are some nice people in the game still :D

Great story. Goes to show not everyone in a place of advantage has to handcuff and loot other players to have a good time.

Sounds like both parties got a cool dayz experience out of it.
