Injection Vial Uses?

Anyone know what this is for? If you inspect the vial itself, the label says that it's Sodium Bicarbonate and it can be either consumed or used with a syringe. The syringe can then be injected into yourself or another player (?). Wikipedia says that it's used as an antacid, in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, to treat hyperkalemia and poison ivy/oak/sumac, and splinters. The DayZ wiki says that it's used like the antibiotics.
