Anyway to configure In game time after restart?

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys

Just wondering if there is such a way to do as the topic stats, we are restarting our server automatically every 4 hours as recommended, god knows what time it is in game when it retstarts. Although we would prefer to have at least a couple of hours day, then dusk into night fo rthe last 2..

Anyone with any info, it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there!

As far as i know there is no way of configuring the exact start time and duration of a full Day cycle.

Some Hosters give you the ability to choose the Server Time (1pm etc...) but then the Server is stuck on this time.

Best regards

Martin

It all depends on who your hosting provider is.

Some as stated above make it stay at a specific time.

Ours, allows you to set a specific time that the server jumps to at restart.  So if you at set to 4PM, then when your server restarts it will be 4PM and the clock will start rolling from there.  And when the server restarts it will jump back to 4PM again.  This allows you to enjoy some day, and some night.

What would be ideal would be to be able to pick a global time that the server runs on.  So that the clock actually moves regardless of restart, but still allows you to set the time.  So you would set it based on + or - of the server clock itself.  So if it's 4PM where you live, and 4PM in game, the time will always match regardless of restart, thereby allowing full day and night cycles.  Hopefully we will be able to set a server to specific timezones, so if we want mostly day, when we mostly play, we can have it, but if we log in late at night, it will actually be night, rather than the current time jumping setup.

As far as I know, you can only set the time in game to either match the actual server time, or a specific time, whether static or a specifc start time after restarts.  I'm not 100% sure of that, but what I am 100% sure of is that what you can do should be available in your TCAdmin from your host.  If you can't find it, look in their knowledge base or FAQ.  If you still can't find it, submit a ticket and ask.  As of right now, there is nothing you can do via RCon to set time and there probably won't be.

Hopefully that all makes sense and helped you out a little.
